Box Score

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 11, 2012)-Chelsea Sanders scored a game-high 23 points and Adobi Agbasi added a double-double with a 16 points and a game-high 17 rebounds to lead visiting Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) to a 75-57 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win over Morgan State on Saturday afternoon at Hill Field House.

Agbasi also added a game-high seven blocked shots, falling one shy of the career-high eight she set against Norfolk State on Monday. Porsha Barr came off the bench to add 11 points, while Karona Roach finished with 10 points, as the visiting Lady Hawks picked up their first win at Hill Field House since Dec. 30, 2008 and improved to 37-30 all-time against Morgan State.

Morgan State (6-18, 3-8 MEAC) was led by Tracey Carrington, who scored 10 points and had a game-high three steals. Whitney Southerland came off the bench and added nine points, while Omara Parker also came off the bench and added nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

Despite the Lady Bears forcing 24 UMES turnovers and converting those into 19 points, the Lady Hawks were able to overcome with their dominance inside the paint. UMES scored 38 of its 75 points from within the paint.

UMES (9-13, 6-4 MEAC) broke open a 33-31 game at halftime, by using a 26-6 run over a course of 10 minutes and 38 second to begin the second half, increasing the Lady Hawks lead to 59-39.

Back-to-back three-pointers from Moneshia Davis cut the deficit to 65-53 with 6:16 to play, but the 12 points would be as close as the Lady Bears would get. UMES would close out the contest on a 10-5 run for the game's final score.

Morgan State will close out their 2011-12 home slate on Monday, Feb. 13, when they play host to Delaware State in a MEAC game at 5:30 p.m. It will be the final home game for senior's DeKeisha Mathis and Omara Parker.
