BALTIMORE, Md. (March 5, 2011)-Morgan State alumni, students, friends and family and track fans in general, it's almost that time again! The annual Morgan State Legacy Meet returns to Hughes Stadium on Friday, April 22 and concludes on Saturday, April 23.
Those athletes that competed during the 1950s will once again be honored, as this year's Legacy Meet will honor the MSU track and field classes of 1956-60. The meet gets underway on Friday at noon with the decathlon and heptathlon along with the men's and women's javelin and hammer throw.
Day 2 gets underway on Saturday with the conclusion of the decathlon and heptathlon, followed by the start of the rest of the field events (shot put, discus, pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump. The running events get started at with the 3000 steeplechase.
There will be a new addition to this year's Legacy Meet, as the excitement of the 4X400 relays, which concludes the event, will get started under the lights beginning at 8 p.m. Don't miss this historic event, as according to the track and field office, Saturday's 'Twilight Night' relays event will be the first time ever at Morgan State.
