The Opening Tip
Morgan State, the two-time MEAC defending champions, will face North Carolina A&T on Monday, Feb. 28th. The game will be televised by ESPNU and is scheduled to top-off at 7 p.m. at the Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro (NC). MSU 15-11 will attempt to bounce back from a 69-63 conference loss at Norfolk State on Saturday. The loss snapped the Bears' 5-game winning streak. The Aggies beat Coppin State 76-72 on Saturday night. The win improved the Aggies to 14-15 overall and 8-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

The Last Time Out
NORFOLK, Va. – Kyle O'Quinn registered his 15th double-double of the season with game highs of 23 points and 18 rebounds, and Rob Hampton scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half to help host Norfolk State earn a season sweep of defending MEAC champion Morgan State, 69-63 on Saturday night at Echols Hall.

North Carolina A&T's Last Game
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- North Carolina A&T closed the game with an 8-0 run, which capped a furious second-half rally, and lifted the Aggies to a 76-72 MEAC victory over Coppin State on Saturday in the Corbett Sports Center. Vince Goldsberry gave Coppin State a 72-68 lead with a jumper with 2:00 to play in the game, but the Eagles would not score again.

♦ Monday's game will be the 79th meeting between Morgan State and North Carolina A&T in men's basketball.

♦ Morgan State has won seven of the last eight contests against the Aggies, including the last six straight.

♦ The Aggies hold a 46-32 all-time record against MSU since the 1950-51 season.

♦ The last time the Aggies defeated Morgan State 91-79 in an overtime victory at the Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro on February 19, 2007.

♦ Morgan State Coach Todd Bozeman has a 7-1 record against North Carolina A&T.

♦ Kevin Thompson is the No. 5 leading rebounder in Morgan State history with 918 career rebounds.

♦ He is also ranked No. 17 on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,107 career points.

♦ He is 82 rebounds shy of 1,000 career rebounds, which would make him only the third Morgan State player to post 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in school history. Marvin Webster (1,990 pts; 2,267 rebs) and Eric Evans (1,949 pts; 1,196 rebs) are the only two Bears to have achieved such an accomplishment.

♦ Last Wednesday night's win against Delaware State (Feb. 23), marked Todd Bozeman's 100th victory as Morgan State's head coach … his current record is 100-57 (.636) in 5 seasons.

♦ The Aggies will attempt to slow down the No. 5 ranked scoring team (67.2) in the MEAC when they host Morgan State on Monday ... The Aggies have the conference's No. 8 ranked scoring defense and have limited opponents to an average of 74.5 points per game.
 
♦ Morgan State completed the 2009-10 season as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champs, it marked the Bears second consecutive MEAC Title and they also captured their third consecutive regular season title ... the Bears are currently in 2nd place behind the MEAC leading Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman (18-11, 12-3).

♦ Morgan State was picked to finish as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference champs again this year … the Bears received 20 first place votes and totaled 476 points to garner the league's top position for the second year in a row. 

♦ Morgan State has posted a 13-1 record when leading with 3 minutes left to play, and are 1-10 when trailing with 3 minutes left. The only loss they had when leading down the stretch was at Delaware State on January 20, 2011.

♦ The Bears did not have a single player score in double-figures during the win against Delaware State on Feb. 23 … Sophomore guard Adam Braswell led Morgan State with 9 points off of the bench.

♦ Morgan State have gone 2-3 in MEAC road contests. The Bears have averaged 59 points per game during the three conference road losses, including their recent 69-63 loss at Norfolk State. 

♦ Morgan State's junior captain Ameer Ali missed the VMI and MD-Eastern Shore games, due to a shoulder injury suffered during the South Carolina State game on Feb. 14th in Orangeburg, S.C.
Ali made his return against Delaware State (Feb. 23).

♦ Following their matchup with North Carolina A&T, the Bears will have three days to prepare for their regular season finale against cross-town rival Coppin State on Thursday, March 3. ... During their last matchup on Dec. 5th, with the game tied at 61, it was Aric Brooks who sealed the Eagles' fate by nailing a three point shot from deep with 1:43 left in regulation … Morgan State ended up winning 70-64.
