GAME TIME
Morgan State will host Murray State in their home-opener at Hill Field House on Monday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.  The game will be broadcast live by Sirius Channel 137. There will also be a LIVE stats of the game at www.MorganStateBears.com. Last Friday, Kevin Thompson posted 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the Bears fell 74-63 at #14/15 Xavier. Murray State's Donte Poole scored a career-high 18 points as the Racers won 76-49 in their season- pener against Harris-Stowe at the CFSB Center.

BEAR BITS
The Bears will look to rebound from last year's fourth place MEAC finish and reclaim the conference title for the fourth time in five years.

The Bears completed the 2010-11 season with a 17-14 mark and posted a 10-6 conference record.

Morgan State was selected to win the MEAC Regular Season Title, edging out last year's MEAC Tournament Champion Hampton. The Bears received eight (8) first place votes and a totaled 616 points to take hold of the conference's top spot going into the season.

MSU senior Kevin Thompson returns to lead the Bears this season...the 6-foot-9 forward was the 2010 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year and was selected to the 2011 All-District 1st Team ... Thompson averaged 13.1 points per game, 9.1 rebounds and has recorded 13 double-doubles (pts & rebs) last season.

MSU recorded several non-conference victories last year including wins over Loyola Marymount University (81-79), Maryland Baltimore County (75-62), Western Illinois (72-53), Robert Morris (67-66).

THE SERIES VS. THE RACERS
• Morgan State and Murray State will meet for the second time on Monday.  
• Murray State won the first meeting 75-66 on February 20, 2010 in an ESPN Bracketbusters contest.

NOTE ON THE RACERS
• Isaiah Canaan was named Henson Preseason All- America. He enters his junior season as a member of the All-Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Team. He was OVC Freshman of the Year and OVC Tournament MVP in 2010, as well as a part of the OVC Newcomer Team. Last season, Canaan was named to the All-OVC First Team. 

• Steve Prohm took over the head coaching reigns at Murray State when Billy Kennedy became the head coach at Texas A&M. Prohm (the 15th head coach in MSU history) is one of 52 first-year head coaches in NCAA D-I and one of 24 making this season their first head coaching job at any level. 

HOME SWEET HOME
• Todd Bozeman has coached the Bears to a terrific home record since joining Morgan State.
• Bozeman has led the Bears to a 44-8 (.846) home record inside the confines of Hill Field House, including a home season finale win against Delaware State on Feb. 23.
• The Loyola Greyhounds' 73-69 victory at Hill Field House on November 29, 2010 handed the Bears its first home loss since a 71-68 loss to South Carolina State on February 15, 2010.
• The 76-74 loss to Norfolk State on January 29, 2011 was the first conference loss at home since the South Carolina State game on February 15, 2010.
• The average margin of loss at home in the past four seasons is 4.1 pts, including a 83-63 loss vs. Seton Hall on Nov. 26, 2006 at Hill Field House.
