E. BRUNSWICK, N.J. (March 8, 2010)-The Lady Bears had a great weekend of bowling in the ECAC Championships, as they won four (4) matches and lost six (6) to place eighth overall against 11 other universities.
On Saturday in the traditional team games, the Lady Bears had a great day winning four (4) matches, while losing only one (1). They lost to Adelphi (824-830). They defeated Saint Peter's (806-766), Jersey City (871-857), Vanderbilt (999-855) and Long Island (804-612).
On Sunday during the Baker matches, The Lady Bears were not as successful, as they did not win a match, losing all five (5). In the quad four matches, Morgan lost to Fairleigh Dickinson (641-715), Norfolk State (671-673) and Kutztown (682-701). In the bracket finals best four (4) out of seven (7), they lost to Adelphi, 3 games to 4 and Saint Francis-N.Y. 0 games to 4.
After placing sixth in qualifying, the Lady Bears had to bowl two additional matches to place 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th. In the best four out of seven, they lost to Adelphi four (4) games to three (3) and then to Saint Francis-N.Y. 0 game to 4 to place eighth overall.
The most outstanding performer was Keisheena Waldon, who averaged 190 with a high game of 231 to place eighth (8th) in a field of 72 bowlers.
The next competition for the Lady Bears will be the Music City Classic in Nashville TN, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 13, 14 and 15 beginning at 9:00 AM.
