GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 22, 2010)-The Lady Bears had a fantastic weekend of bowling in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship to finish fourth.
On Friday, in the team games, the Lady Bears won three (3) matches and lost one (1). They defeated Bethune-Cookman (800-717), Hampton (863-824) and South Carolina State (824-815). Their lone loss was to Norfolk State (737-793). In the baker competition, they won only one (1) match while losing four (4). They defeated Florida A&M (675-636). They lost to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (605-638), Norfolk State (649-670), South Carolina State (676-684) and Delaware State (617-751).
On Saturday in the baker matches best four (4) out of seven (7) they won two matches and lost two matches to be eliminated from the competition. They lost to UMES 4-0 and then defeated Florida A&M 4-0 and Norfolk State 4-2 then lost to South Carolina State 4-3 to be eliminated from the competition.
The most outstanding performer for the Lady Bears was Ashley Milbourne who averaged 176 with a high game of 189.
