The Opening Tip
No. 13 Morgan State, the 2009 MEAC champion, will attempt to rebound from a tough home loss against South Carolina State that snapped an 11-game winning streak. The Bears will travel to face conference opponent Delaware State (14-9, 9-3) on Wednesday, February 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall. The game will mark the 84th meeting between the teams.
The Last Time Out
Jason Flagler scored a game-high 24 points and the Bulldogs shot a blistering 57.1 percent from the field to help drop the Bears 71-68 at Hill Field House on Monday night in an ESPNU televised game. The loss stopped Morgan State's 10-game winning streak, and halted the Bears' 12-game regular season conference win streak.
Delaware State's Last Game
DOVER, Del. -- Frisco Sandidge scored 16 points to lead Delaware State to a 66-63 win over Florida A&M on Monday night.Marcus Neal chipped in with 14 points for the Hornets (14-9, 9-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who have won three games in a row and six of their past seven. A tip-in from Florida A&M's Yannick Crowder cut the Hornets' lead to 66-60 with 2:23 remaining, and a 3-pointer from Dale Hughes 8 seconds later got the Rattlers as close as 66-63.

Wednesday's game will be the 84th meeting between Morgan State and Delaware State in men's basketball. The Bears hold a 45-38 advantage in the series. The Bears have won the last six meetings against Delaware State The last time the Hornets defeated Morgan State was during the 2007 MEAC Basketball Tournament Semi-Finals when they dropped the Bears 56-53 in overtime in Raleigh, N.C.

Morgan State senior guard #Reggie Holmes# will enter Saturday's contest averaging 22.2 points per game, including four 30 point outings thru 27 games. He currently leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in scoring and ranks in the NCAA Top 10 (ranked No. 9).
Thompson's Hospitality
Morgan State forward #Kevin Thompson# was named to the Freshmen Mid-Major All-America team by Collegeinsider.com at the end of the last season. Thompson has led Morgan State in rebounding 23 times in 2009-10 and 39 times in his career. Thompson is among the nation's leaders in rebounds ... he ranks No. 4 (12 rpg) and has posted 25 rebounds in a game which is an NCAA single-game high for this season.
Numbers Game
Morgan State had an 11-game winning streak snapped by S.C. State on Feb. 15 ... The Bears have won 14 of its last 18 games.

Morgan State improved from No. 17 to No. 13, earning its highest ranking ever in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The squad collected 340 points Monday, which fell ahead of William & Mary at No. 14 (331 points) and behind 12th-ranked Akron (360 points). The No.1 position is currently held by Butler (770 points).

Kevin Thompson posted his 16th double-double of the season (22nd career) when he finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds with 2 assists vs. S.C. State (Feb.15).
Prior to the S.C. State loss, MSU had won 12 straight regular season conference games since last year.
Senior guard Troy Smith scored a career-best 18 points in an overtime win at Norfolk State (Jan. 31), followed by 16 points at N.C. A&T on Feb. 1.

The Bears shot a season-high 54.5% (30-55 FG) from the field and outscored Winston-Salem State in the paint 42-to-32.

MSU ranks No. 1 in the MEAC in rebounding margin by holding a 1027-908 total rebound advantage over its opponents.
