BALTIMORE, Md. (Dec. 3, 2010)-The Morgan State men's indoor track and field team will look to duplicate the success that the women's team had earlier this week, when they open up the season 2010-11 season this Saturday, Dec. 4, when it travels to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the Navy Invitational, hosted by the United States Naval Academy (Navy).
On Wednesday, the women's squad captured the Navy Lidlifter Meet, winning five events and placing second in six. The Lady Bears set two Wesley Brown Field House records and had four ECAC qualifiers.
Unlike the women's meet, this will be a non-scored event. Each team is allowed four individual entries and two relay teams per event.
This year's teams will be host Navy, American, Bowie State, Coppin State, Delaware State, Elizabethtown, Georgetown, Hampton, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State and Mount St. Mary's.
The action gets underway at 11 a.m. at the Wesley A. Brown Field House with the weight throw. The rest of the field events will begin at noon, along with the 5000 meter run. The 4X800 meter relay is scheduled to take place at 2:55 p.m., followed by the 4X400 meter relay.
