The Opening Tip
Morgan State (8-6, 1-0), the 2009 MEAC champion, will travel south when they face against non-conference opponent Baylor (11-1) on Wednesday night. The game will mark the 14th non-conference game of the season for the Bears. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ferrell Center. The game will mark the first match-up between the teams.
The Last Time Out
Kevin Thompson scored 19 points and Sean Thomas added 14, however Robert Morris' Rob Robinson scored five of his game-high 23 points in the final minute to lift the Colonials to a 78-75 win over Morgan State on Monday night at Sewall Center. Holmes, who entered the game ranked No. 2 in the nation (24 ppg), was limited to 11 points and shot 3-for-15 from the floor.
Baylor's Last Game
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- LaceDarius Dunn had 21 points, Ekpe Udoh added a career high 20 rebounds and Baylor won its seventh straight with a 85-74 victory at undermanned South Carolina on Saturday. The Bears (11-1) used an 18-2 run that spanned both halves to take control and held on as the Gamecocks (8-5) cut a 17-point lead to 72-63 on Devan Downey's 3-pointer with 3 minutes left. Baylor hadn't won seven in a row since starting the 2000-01 season 12-0 under former coach Dave Bliss.
Series History
Wednesday night's game will be the first meeting between Morgan State and Baylor in men's basketball.

♦ Morgan State senior guard Reggie Holmes will enter Wednesday's contest averaging 23.8 points
per game, including three 30 point outings thru 14 games. He currently leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in scoring and ranks in the NCAA Top 10 (ranked No. 5).

♦ Morgan State forward Kevin Thompson was named to the Freshmen Mid-Major All-America team by Collegeinsider.com at the end of the last season. Thompson became the first Bear ever to be selected to the team. Thompson posted his 10th double-double of the season (16th career) during the Bears win against Long Island, finishing with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Thompson is among the nation's leaders in rebounds ... he ranks No. 3 (12.8 rpg) and has posted 25 rebounds in a game which is an NCAA single-game high for this season.

♦ Morgan State has won three of its last five games and 4 of its last 7.
♦ The Bears are 7-6 thus far this season against non-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponents and will enter MEAC play on Saturday Jan. 9th at Burr Gymnasium in Washington D.C. against Howard.
♦ Sophomore forward Kevin Thompson is ranked among the nation's leading rebounders ... He currently ranks No. 5 by averaging 12.8 boards per contest.
♦ Sean Thomas recorded a career-high 14 points (5-7 FG) in 25 minutes of action at Robert Morris.
♦ Philadelphia product Ameer Ali collected a season-high 10 boards and scored five points off the bench during the Bears loss at Robert Morris.
♦ Reggie Holmes was selected to the Dr. Pepper All-Classic Team where he averaged 24 points per game during the two-day Classic.
♦ Morgan State's Reggie Holmes has been named the MEAC Player of the Week three so far this season and Kevin Thompson has also been named three times as Defensive Player of the Week and once as the MEAC Player of the Week.
