BALTIMORE, Md. (May 1, 2009)-Morgan State assistant women's basketball coach Alicia Clarke has been selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Women's Coaches Academy (WCA), held June 6-10 in Atlanta, Ga.
During the four day session, candidates will cover the following topics: Fundamentals of Coaching; Management Issues; Principles of Marketing; Culture of Women's Athletics; and Policies and Procedures.
“I think this is a wonderful opportunity for my development as a coach and for my future endeavors,” said Clarke, who will enter her fifth season on the Lady Bears' staff.
The WCA is sponsored by the WinStar Foundation and is designed and structured to provide relevant topics and learning opportunities. Through the use of case studies, “what if”, scenarios and role playing, that will expand perspective and create or advance necessary skills.
