HAMPTON, Va. -- Donte Harrison scored 18 points and Hampton held Morgan State without a field goal for the game's final 3:51, sealing a 49-47 win on Monday night.
The Pirates hit three free throws in the final 16 seconds to seal the win.
It was the Bears lowest scoring total since posting 37 points in a loss against Utah on Nov. 22nd.
Harrison, the only Hampton player in double figures, added five rebounds and two blocks for the Pirates (13-14, 6-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).
Marquise Kately recorded a double-double for the Bears (18-11, 11-3), scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds as the only Morgan State player in double figures.
The Bears, who had an eight-game winning streak snapped, still hold the top spot in the MEAC despite the loss.
The Pirates hit 3-of-9 shots from beyond the arc, while the Bears couldn't sink any 3-pointers in eight attempts. Reggie Holmes, the conference leader in 3-pointers, missed on all five of his attempts and finished the game with 7 points.
"We didn't play well at all," said Morgan State coach Todd Bozeman. "We didn't amke a 3. I think that's the first time ever, since I've been here."
The Bears held a 25-23 advantage at halftime.
The Bears forced 17 turnovers from the Pirates, but the Bears struggled to capitalize as they turned the ball over 16 times.
Morgan State had a shot to tie the ballgame in the final seconds, but Ameer Ali had his layup attempt blocked by Harrison at the buzzer, handing the Bears its third conference loss, and its second defeat to the Pirates this season.
