The men's distance medley relay team broke the school record with a time of 10:09.02.
NEW YORK, N.Y. (Feb. 9, 2009)-One week after breaking the school record in the distance medley relay, the team set a new mark over the weekend at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, held at the New Balance Track & Field Center.
The men's distance medley relay team of Nathan Mesta, Kevin Bowen, Isaac Richardson and Justus David finished 17th overall and ran a time of 10:09.02 on Friday, Feb. 6, breaking the previous school mark of 10:12.64, which they set at the Penn State National Invitational (1/30).
Individually, Bowen, who suffered his first head-to-head loss, finishing third in his heat, placed 18th overall in the 400 meter run championship section with a time of 48.20. Mesta ran a time of 4:21.23 to place 26th in the mile run college section.
The Bears will now turn their focus to the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Feb. 12-14 at the Prince George's County Sports & Learning Center in Landover, Md.
