Marquise Kately led a trio of double-digit scorers with 17 points as host Morgan State beat Howard, 64-59, and took sole possession of first place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference last night.
The Bears (17-9, 11-2) outscored the Bison 39-22 in the first half. Howard (5-22, 2-10) rallied in the second half, outscoring Morgan 37-25, but the Bears held on for the win.
Eugene Myatt had a game-high 20 points to lead Howard.
Morgan State will host the Hampton Pirates on Monday night at Hill Field House. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
