BALTIMORE, Md. (August 20, 2007) – Morgan State University and WEAA 88.9 FM have agreed to a year-long broadcast and marketing partnership that will have the local station broadcasting all of the Bears’ football games for the upcoming 2007 season, director of athletics Floyd Kerr announced.
The broadcast and promotional package will also include weekly promotional announcements, on-air ticket giveaways, home contest pre-game shows, and regular broadcast and internet features with head coach Donald Hill-Eley.
Listeners in the Baltimore/Washington area can catch each game live on WEAA 88.9 FM, the university’s 12,500-watt award winning public radio station. Fans worldwide can listen online by simply logging-on to the station’s website at www.weaa.org and clicking the “Listen Live” link on the home page. A link to the live streaming audio can also be found on the MSU athletics site, www.morganstatebears.com.

The broadcast team for the 2007 Morgan State Football games will consist of Mr. Robert ‘Rob’ Long the afternoon sports talk show host on WNST-AM all-sports broadcast radio station, who will serve as the play-by-play announcer and Mr. Kelvin Bridgers, a former Morgan State assistant football coach under current coach Donald Hill-Eley. 2007 will mark the second year as the ‘Voice of Morgan Football’ for Long and Bridgers.
The Bear’s season kicks off on Thursday, August 30th when the Bears host Savannah State at 7:00 p.m. The match-up against the Tigers will be the first of seven home games for the Bears.
