Catherine Stoute will compete in the javelin this weekend at the NCAA East Regional Championships.
BALTIMORE, Md. (May 23, 2007)-Morgan State senior track and field members Janice Smythe, Catherine Stoute and Brittany Robinson along with the Lady Bears’ 4X100 meter relay team will compete this weekend at the NCAA East Regional Championships, held Friday, May 25-Saturday, May 26 at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track on the campus of the University of Florida.
Smythe, leads the Lady Bears, having qualified in both the 400 meter hurdles and the 400 meter dash. Stoute and Robinson will both compete in field events, with Stoute throwing the javelin, while Robinson will take part in the high jump.
The Lady Bears will be among the many talented athletes along the East Coast, who are competing for the right to advance to the 2007 NCAA Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif., on June 6-9.
The top five finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams in the 4X100 and 4X400 will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships.
