Dia Campbell teamed with Joaquin Turley to earn an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles on Tuesday.
NORFOLK, Va. (March 20, 2007)—The Morgan State men’s tennis team posted a 7-0 shutout victory over Winston-Salem State on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match held at the NSU Tennis Complex on the campus of Norfolk State University.
The Bears started the match off by winning all three doubles matches to claim a 1-0 lead. Disa Mhembere and Matthew Townes teamed together to defeat Winston-Salem State’s Princeston Gilbert and Troy Moore 8-5 in a No. 1 doubles match. Juan Ortiz and Mauricio Ortiz earned an 8-1 No. 2 victory over Ryan Lindquist and Phi Tran, while Joaquin Turley and Dia Campbell won their No. 3 match over Andrew Jones and Daren Milbourne, 8-0.
Morgan State returns to action on Thursday, March 22, when they host Delaware State at 2 p.m. at Clifton Park Courts. It will be the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference home opener for the Bears.
