The Lady Bears won four gold medals, four silver medals and six bronze totaling 14 in the three day championships. Head Coach Neville Hodge won his first MEAC women's title with Morgan State and was named the 2005 Outstanding Coach.

"I'm always at the door, but I couldn't ever open it. This time I've opened it and closed it," said Morgan Head Coach Hodge. "All the ladies gave me everything they had and they made it happen. It's a great feeling for me, it's a great feeling for the kids and it's going to be a great thing on campus when we get back."

Lewis, in her first year of competition, outscored five teams with a breath taking total of 55 points. "I'm tired," said Lewis who earned points in six events winning the long jump, triple jump, 100m hurdles and 200m dash. She qualified for NCAA Regionals in all four events that she won.  "It's a lot of hard work [competing in six events], but it's alright."
