Men's Track Places Third At Princeton Relays

The Morgan State Men's Indoor Track & Field team took a trip to New Jersey last weekend, and came away with a 3rd place finish at the Princeton Relays.

The meet was hosted by Princeton University on Saturday, January 22, 2005. MSU finished 3rd among a competitive field of 6 institutions. The final order of finish looked this way:  1. Princeton (215) 2. Monmouth (112.50), 3. Morgan State (104.50), 4. Rutgers University (60), 5. Kean University (25.50), 6. Temple University (10.50).

MSU's Kenneth Walker was the class of the field in the 60m Dash, finishing 1st in a time of 6.81. Morgan's Keion Gray placed 3rd in a time of 6.99. 

Walker also finished 3rd in the 300m Dash, coming home in 35.34. MSU's Herbert Nichols was fourth in 35.51, and #Nathaniel Lettman was right behind Nichols in 35.95.

Morgan's Daryl Young raced home with top honors in the 400m Dash, breaking the tape in 49.79.  Herbert Nichols was third in the race with a time of 49.95.

In the 600M Run Hoisea Jones picked up third place honors, racing home in  1:22.40. MSU's #Jason Carson-Harris finished 5th with a time of 1:25.11.

MSU's Michael Banks won the Triple Jump with a meet best 13.04m, and was the runner-up in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.68m.

In the Shot Put competition Frederick Bellenger picked up points for his 6th place finish with a toss of 13.87m.

The Men's Indoor Track & Field squad returns to action on January 28-29, 2005 in State College, PA at the Penn State Invitational.
