Morgan Varsity M Club To Induct 15 Into Hall Of Fame

The Morgan State University Varsity M Club has announced that fifteen former Morgan State University coaches and athletes will be inducted into its Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Forum Ballroom Room at 12:00 p.m.  Tickets for the event will be $50.00 The Hall of Fame banquet will precede the Morgan State-Bethune Cookman football game scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Hughes Stadium on the Earl C. Banks playing field.

The 2004 Induction Class is:

John 'Tiny' Andrews – Two-Time All-MEAC defensive linemen for the Golden Bears and standout defensive linemen for the NFL Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.

Raymond Chester - Former Morgan State All-CIAA selection, caught legendary pass leading to Morgan's 9-7 win against Grambling in 1968. A first round draft pick, Ray was an All-Pro tight end for the NFL Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Colts.

Kenneth Dixon, Sr. – (Deceased) –The CIAA Mile run champion in 1948, 49, and 50.  He also won the South Atlantic Mile Run and ran in the Drake and Penn Relays. 

Nathaniel Frazier  - All-Time winningest Basketball Coach in the school's history and Head Coach of the 1974 NCAA College Division National Championship team. Selected MEAC 'Coach of the Year' and AP National 'Coach of the Year' in 1974.

Willie Germany – Former linebacker for the Golden Bears, who was selected in the seventh round by the Washington Redskins.  Willie also played cornerback for the NFL Houston Oilers.

Edward 'Fast Eddie' Hayes – Former Morgan State four-time All-CIAA defensive back. A member of the 1966 NCAA South Atlantic Region Champion football team and selected in the fourth round by the Denver Broncos

Wayne Jackson – Former All-American Lacrosse player and standout football performer. Selected one of the top 100 College Athletes and played in the North/South LaCrosse All-Star game.

Webster Lewis – (Deceased) – Outstanding track and field performer, who ran on the Mile Relay teams in 1941 and 1942. 

Gregory Ogle – All MEAC cornerback and standout Track and Field sprinter competing in the 100-yard dash and on the Mile Relay team.  Served as Morgan's Head Tennis Coach in the 1990's.

Maria Parson – Three time AIAW All-American who was ranked 10th in the World in the 55 meter dash.  Won the school's 'Unsung Hero Award' in 1977.  Set an American Collegiate record in the 300 meter run in 1980.

Nathaniel Taylor  - Long time Assistant Football Coach under legendary Head Coach Earl C.  Banks.  Served as Head Coach of the Football and Men and Women's Basketball programs during his tenure with MSU.

Tim McCready - 1967 CIAA Championship Golf Team       

Rodney 'Binx' Watts   - Captain of the 1967 CIAA Championship Golf Team

Allen 'Frog' Wilson - 1967 CIAA Championship Golf Team
