Lady Bears Bowlers Make Big Splash In Daytona Beach

The Lady Bears had another outstanding week of bowling at the Sun & Fun Invitational Bowling Tournament in Daytona Beach, Florida.  MSU finished second among the six schools at the tournament.

On Saturday, the Lady Bears defeated University of Wisconsin 1123-990, Bethune Cookman 1124-1084, and Savannah State 867-706. They lost to The University of South Florida 932-924 and The University of Central Florida, 992-883.

 On Sunday, MSU won four out of five matches in defeating Savannah State 580-352, University of Central Florida, 579-518, University of South Florida, 576-527 and Bethune , 564-551. The only loss came at the hands of the University of Wisconsin, 593-550. 

The most outstanding performers were, Katrina Simms, Sherita Johnson, Tara Slocum and Heather Kilgore. Each of these young ladies averaged over 200 for the tournament. Katrina averaged 203 with a high game of 246. Sherita averaged 212 with a high game of 277. Heather averaged 208 with a high game of 254 and Tara averaged 204 with a high game of 251.    

The Lady Bears next competition will be the Colgate Collegiate Invitational in Stratford, NJ on December 27-28.
