Lady Bear Volleyball Season Ends In MEAC Semi-Finals

The Morgan State volleyball season came to an end Friday night as they suffered a tough MEAC Tournament semi-finals loss to the Hawks of UMES 3-2 (30-27, 26-30, 31-29, 22-30, 10-15).

MSU (20-19, 6-4 MEAC) gave the Hawks all they could handle in this Friday night semi-final in Greensboro, NC.  However in the end the Lady Bears were unable to put away the Hawks for the right to advance to the MEAC Tournament finals.

This was the second match of the day for the Lady Bears, and both were 5 game wars.

MSU defeated Bethune-Cookman College in five games earlier in the day, and had to bounce back to take on a tough UMES squad on Friday evening.

The defeat ends a strong season for MSU volleyball. The Lady Bears showed signs of promise for the 2005 season.

Freshman Ashley Preston was named to the All-MEAC 1st Team, and Esther Johnson was named MEAC "Rookie of the Year".
