The Lady Bears had an outstanding weekend at the MEAC Championships placing third and winning 8 matches while losing only 1.
On Friday, the Lady Bears defeated Hampton 871-845, BCC 889-975, Norfolk State, 897-682 and South Carolina State, 853-770. Their only loss was at the hands of UMES by a score of 947-1000. On Saturday they went undefeated by beating Howard, 967-915, Coppin State, 928-727, FAMU, 905-848 and North Carolina A & T, 962-849.
The most outstanding performer of the competition was Ashley Kilgore. She had a high game of 233 and finished the weekend with an average of 191. A scoring error made by one of the coaches that was not detected until hours after the competition, prevented Ashley from being a member of the all tournament team. She is on record as placing 7th but actually placed in a tie for 5th. We hope this mistake can be rectified.  Â
The Lady Bears next competition will be the MEAC Championships on Friday and Saturday, November 20-21 Greensboro, NC.
