Ashley Alexander collected 8 kills in match vs. American University.
The Morgan State volleyball team put up a spirited battle before falling to American University in Washington, DC Tuesday evening 3-0 (16-30,18-30,20-30).
The Lady Bears (15-17, 6-4 MEAC)Â Â were competitive against a highly talented American University squad, but were unable to generate enough offense to overcome the Lady Eagles.
AU hit .459 for the match and pounded out 54 kills to only 33 kills for the Lady Bears.
MSU did have some problems on serve receive, as they were the victims of 13 Service Aces by the Lady Eagles. Â
Morgan State did get a strong effort from Esther Johnson who led the team with 10 kills. Ashley Alexander contirbuted 8 kills to the Lady Bear cause.
AU was led by Natacha Cornaz who led the match with 18 kills.
