Leroy Kelly

Born in in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Leroy Kelly came to Morgan fter graduating from Philly's Simon Gratz High School.  Leroy was one of the most versatile runners ever to grace Black College Football.  The Pittsburgh Courier Black College All-American selection was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the eighth round.  Known as the man who replaced legendary running back Jim Brown.  Leroy rushed for 7,274 yards during his career and rushed for over 1,000 yards his first three years after becoming a starter.  He won NFL ruhing titles in 1967 and 1968 and was a two-time punt return champion.  His combined for over 12,329 all-purpose yards and 90 touchdowns during his career.  Leroy was enshrined in the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
