Men's Tennis shut out at James Madison 7-0

HARRISONBURG, Va. –  Morgan State men's tennis was upended in non-conference action versus James Madison on Saturday, falling 7-0 on the road.

The Bears lost a pair of tiebreakers to the Dukes at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Junior Arjun Ramakrishnan and freshman Serhii Kharchev came up short to Theophile Lanthiez and Paul Mendoza who came back from a 5-2 deficit at the No. 1 position to win 7-6(2) and clinched the opening point.

Ramakrisnan and senior Lucas Krusinski each took their opponents the distance before falling in three sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

Pierre Kohlerepresented the match clinching point for the Dukes, taking down freshman Sebastian Lopez in two sets at the No. 4 position.

"We dropped a close doubles point today and were not able to recover mentally for the singles," said MSU coach Matthew Townes. "It's very early in the year, but we must get mentally stronger and a bit stingy when it comes to teams of this level."

"Hopefully we have learned a lot today and will use it to continue to get better and better."
