PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Sept. 23, 2017)-The Lady Bears' cross country team returned to action on Saturday morning and placed third with a total of 95 points at the Cappy Anderson Invitational 5K race at The Pavilion on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The annual invitational is named for Clifton "Cappy" Anderson, who was the long time track and field coach at Maryland State and guided the Hawks to the 1963 NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Infinnatie Rowe led Morgan State for the second consecutive week, finishing in a time of 20:29.10 to place 15
th overall. Morgan State also got a top 25 performance out of
Rachel Bauer, who ran a time of 21:31.90 to place 20
th.

Seton Hall won the team title with 31 points. The Pirates would finish the race with five runners placing in the top 10. Norfolk State finished second with 57 points, while host Maryland Eastern Shore (101) and Delaware State (108) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Marta Bissah of Norfolk State claimed the individual title, crossing the finish line in a time of 18:03.30.

Morgan State will be off next week, before travelling to Smyrna, Del. on Oct. 7 to compete at the DSU-Pre Conference Run.
