Men's Tennis Runs Win Streak to Three Straight In Dominant 4-0 Rout Of Howard

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Morgan State men's tennis team made quick work of their visiting Beltway opponents.

The Bears stifled the Howard Bison 4-0 in their conference matchup on Saturday (April 8) at the Morgan State Tennis Courts. The victory extended Morgan State's win streak to three consecutive matches.

"We remained undefeated at home and in the conference this weekend," said MSU coach Matthew Townes. "It was a good win, but we won't celebrate. We have two more big matches coming up that we must prepare for as we push to hold the number 1 spot."

The Bears sit atop the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division standings with a 2-0 record and improved to 5-12 overall.

The Bears won the doubles point with ease after the pair of freshman Nihit Rawal and Ondrej Labik, playing on court one, clinched with a 6-2 victory over Howard's William Jones III  and Ismael Kaouache.

MSU continued its strong showing into singles, where Rawal and junior Jeremy Field quickly dismantled their opponents on courts five and three. They were followed by junior Arjun Ramakrishnan, who's 6-4, 6-1 win on court three against Karim Shokeir also clinched the match for the Bears.

With only three matches left before the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships, the Bears are looking solid and more and more prepared for postseason play.
