BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State will go through its final scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday (Aug. 28) as the Bears continue to prepare for their season opener against Bowie State on September 4th at Hughes Stadium.
The Bears controlled intra-squad scrimmage is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Hughes Stadium.
MSU coach Donald Hill-Eley said the Bears are expected to go over 70 plays on Saturday with the first and second units getting the bulk of the action. The scrimmage will be “live” as both the offense and defense will be at full speed with the exception of tackling the quarterback.
“We are going to go over every situation and have it as game-like as possible from our pre-game routine to the attention to detail during the course of the scrimmage.”
“I'm looking for progress along all three lines – offense, defense and special teams. I expect it to be very physical. This scrimmage will be a good gauge as to how we respond game conditions.”
Following Saturday's scrimmage, the team will officially break fall camp. MSU resumes practice on Monday as the team goes to a one-a-day practice schedule until the start of the season.
