Morgan Media Day set for Sunday, August 9 at Hughes Stadium

 

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Head Coach Donald Hill-Eley's Bear football team will begin their 2009 campaign Saturday, August 8 when all student-athletes report for preseason practice. Morgan State returns 40 lettermen and 14 starters from last year's squad, including seven (7 members of the Preseason All-MEAC Team headed by running back Devan James, defensive end Justin Lawrence and cornerback Darren McKhan

In the preseason poll released by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), the Bears were predicted to finish sixth by the coaches and sports information directors.

MSU's first official day of practice will begin Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Hughes Stadium. The first scrimmage is scheduled for August 22 followed by scrimmages on August 29 and September 3 (6 p.m).

The Bears open the season at InfoCision Stadium on Saturday, September 12 against Akron. The match-up against the Zips will be the first of five road games for the Bears. This year homecoming will be on October 11 against conference rival North Carolina A&T.
