Eighteen MSU Student-Athletes Graduated During Fall Commencement

BALTIMORE, Md. (December 16, 2019) – Eighteen (18) student-athletes earned their degrees as part of the nearly 500 Morgan State University students who participated in the Fall 2019 commencement ceremonies on Friday, December 13 inside Hill Field House. 

The 18 graduates represent seven of Morgan State's athletics programs. Six of the graduates were from the football program, four from women's basketball, two from volleyball, two from women's track & field, two from cheerleading, one from softball and one from men's basketball.

Corin "Tiny" Adams, a current member of the Bears men's basketball staff and a former women's basketball standout, earned her Master of Arts in journalism.

Morgan State President David Wilson presided over the ceremonies.
 
The third-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, Majority Whip James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, was the keynote speaker for the event, and communications technology expert Jesse E. Russell, a pioneer in the development of the cellphone's wireless technology, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science. 
 
The University also conferred its 800th doctoral degree during the ceremony, a number that included a record 79 doctorates awarded in 2019,  the most awarded in a calendar year since the University began offering doctoral degrees.
 
Congratulations to all of the members of the Morgan State Fall Class of 2019.
