GREENVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 20, 2008)-Marshall's Kristin Marcum recorded a match-high 10 kills and Elizabeth Herman and Layne Kehl each added six kills to lead the Thundering Herd to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-21) non-conference victory over Morgan State on Saturday evening at Minges Coliseum in the final match for both teams in the East Carolina Invitational.
Morgan State (1-15) finished the weekend going 0-3, while Marshall concluded the tournament with a 2-1 mark.
Erin Cox led the Lady Bears with six kills and Erica Turnbull added five kills for Morgan State in the loss. Rhyan Shy led Morgan with a team-high 11 digs.
Morgan State returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 25, when it plays host to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County for its home opener at Hill Field House. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
