William Anthony Brent

William is a native of Baltimore, Md. and was born the seventh child of Howard D. Sr. and Lavinia C. Brent. William entered the Armed Forces in 1943, served in the Pacific and was Honorably Discharged in February 1946. He completed his high school education at Frederick Douglass High in Baltimore. He then attended Morgan State University from 1946-50 and graduated with a B.S. degree in Health and Physical Education. While at Morgan, he became a member of the Bear Championship Track Teams, 1947-50 and was also Football Trainer for the Varsity Team from 1948-50.

He became first employed by the U.S. Government Enemy Prisoner of War Information Office at Fort Holabird (Md.) and then was transferred to the Army Intelligence Facility at the same installation. In 1968, William was promoted to the Special Services Branch as a Sports Specialist and worked his way to Post Sports Director. He is now serving in the capacity as Post Sports Director at Fort Meade (Md.). William is a member of St. John A.M.E. Church in Baltimore where he serves on the Trustee Board and is President of the J.R. Coasey Brotherhood.

He has been a member of the Varsity "M" Club since graduating from college and has been active with the Hall of Fame Committee since 1973.
