CHERENFANT AND SAVOY RECOGNIZED AS ALL-AMERICANS

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recently awarded Morgan State's Jephte Cherenfant and Cheryl Savoy with its annual All-American Strength & Conditioning Athlete of the Year award -- recognizing the student athletes dedication to strength training and conditioning.

This year, the NSCA awarded 247 collegiate and high school athletes from 96 schools with this esteemed award. Cherenfant and Savoy were selected by MSU strength coach Joshua Bush, MS, CSCS.

"These two student-athletes are the first-ever NSCA All-Americans at Morgan State," said Bush. "Both of them have done a tremendous job in and out of the weight room. As far as strength and conditioning, both of them possess elite levels of concentration and their determination in the weight room is unparalleled."

Alan Kinniburgh, NSCA's Executive Director adds, "The advantages of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied in collegiate and high school athletics. These student-athletes attest to this understanding, and are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication.

The NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year Award program is in its 32nd year, and is made possible by a grant from Power Systems, Inc., a Knoxville, Tennessee fitness product leader.
