Softball Opens MEAC Play This Friday At Rival Coppin State

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 31, 2010)-The Morgan State softball team returns to the field this Friday, April 2, when it begins its 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule with a doubleheader at rival Coppin State. First pitch is slated for noon at the new Coppin State Field. The three-game series will conclude on Saturday with a game at noon.

Morgan State (4-14), which hasn't played since losing a four-game series at George Mason (March 20-21), is currently on a season-long 12-game losing skid. The Lady Bears last win was a two-game sweep at North Carolina Central (Feb. 21).

Coppin State, which enters the contest with a 12-10 overall mark, opened up its new field with a three-game series against Bucknell on Sunday. The Eagles won the first game ever played in its new facility, before dropping the remaining two games.
