BALTIMORE, Md. -- Morgan State will host Florida A&M in a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Rattlers. The Bears will tip-off at 4:00 p.m. at Hill Field House. Morgan State will attempt to extend its current four-game winning streak. The matchup with the Rattlers is the 47th meeting between the teams in men's basketball.
The Bears pulled away with a 66-56 win on Monday night at South Carolina State and improved their record to 8-2 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and 14-10 overall. Marquise Kately led the Bears by scoring 19 points and Reggie Holmes finished with 15.
Florida A&M is on a six-game losing streak as a result of a 96-69 loss at Norfolk State in a nationally televised on ESPNU. Larry Jackson led the Rattlers with 18 points and Lamar Twitty added 10 rebounds as the Rattlers fell to 4-6 in the MEAC and 6-16 overall. 
The Bears have won 12 of its last 16 games, including conference home wins against N.C. A&T (Jan. 10), Norfolk State (Jan. 12) and Howard (1/24).
Florida A&M holds a 32-14 record against the Bears since the series began during the 1987-88 season. The Rattlers handed Morgan State a 63-58 loss in Tallahassee, Florida on January 17, 2009.  

NOTES ON FLORIDA A&M
> FAMU has lost six consecutive games...The Rattlers last win was against Coppin State on Jan. 19th at the Gaither Gymnasium.
> The Rattlers have a 6-16 overall record and are 4-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
> FAMU ranks 6th in the MEAC in scoring by averaging 61 points per game while allowing a league-high 74.3 points per game.
> Lamar Twitty leads the Rattlers in scoring by averaging 10.2 pg along with 4.5 rpg thru 20 games.
> Yannick Crowder is among the MEAC rebounding leaders by averaging 6.1 rebounds per game.
HOLMES BEARING DOWN ON 3-POINT RECORDS
Reggie Holmes needs to hit three more 3-pointers in order to capture the single-season school record for made 3-pointers and the record for career 3-pointers...Both records are currently held by MSU assistant coach Sam Brand who connected on 69 3-pointers during the 2004-05 season and finished with 178 3-pointers for his career under head coach Alfred “ Butch” Beard.
MORGAN STATE TO COMPETE IN ESPNU BRACKETBUSTERS
> Morgan State will host cross-town rival Towson on Saturday, February 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the Towson Center as one of 51 games that comprise the seventh annual ESPNU BracketBusters.
> The Morgan State Bears are the first MEAC team to participate in the two-day men's basketball event that pits 102 potential NCAA Tournament hopefuls against each other three weeks prior to Selection Sunday.
