Bears Returns Home For Beltway Battle against Howard

BALTIMORE, Md. -- Morgan State plays host to Howard on Saturday afternoon in Hill Field House. The Bears and Bison tip-off at 4 p.m., with the game being broadcast on WEAA 88.9 FM. The game is the first in a two-game homestand for Morgan State, with the Bears facing Hampton for a Monday matchup at 7:30 p.m.
The Bears improved to 4-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference following a 78-44 blowout victory against Bethune-Cookman on Monday night in Daytona, Florida. Reggie Holmes led the Bears by matching a season-high with 29 points, while Kevin Thompson posted 16 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds.
Howard pulled out a 74-65 win at home against South Carolina State. Eugene Myatt poured in a season-high 25 points to lead the Bison to their first conference win of the season. 

The Bears have won seven of its last nine games, including conference wins at home against Coppin State (Dec. 6), North Carolina A&T (Jan. 10) and Norfolk State (Jan. 12).
Morgan State holds a 54-40 record against the Bison since the series began during the 1950-51 season.

*Junior guard Reggie Holmes continues to be an important part of Morgan State's production this season. The Baltimore product leads the team with a 16.3 points-per-game scoring average, a 4.6 rebounding average and a 1.2 steals average. Reggie has converted on his last 26-of-30 free throws, including going 9-for-9 from the stripe against North Carolina A&T and 7-for-7 against Bethune-Cookman. He ranks 4th in the MEAC in scoring and 8th in free throw shooting. 

*MSU is 4th in the MEAC in field goal percentage defense (43.4 pct.). The Bears have limited seven opponents to less than 40 percent shooting from the floor overall, and five foes to less than 30 percent from three-point range. MSU is fourth in the MEAC against the three (31.4 pct.).
